What and how often do you want to hear from me?
Quick post about the timing and content of my letters
March 25, 2023
Hello, lovely people.
You may know I’ve been traveling a bit in the last month, for a tank-filling vacation and then a quick writers weekend to meet my Irish friend, Lou Coghlan, author of “Granny Nancy, Ireland’s Oldest Lady.” So much to tell you about!
Travel does take you away from routines, especially writing. And then there’s me. In younger years, I was predictable. With my current life responsibilities and irregular work schedule, a post on the same day every week is probably not realistic. But I am writing and journaling all the time! So many fascinating topics come across my path, what I read, what I hear in conversations, and what I gather from podcasts, news, film and social media. And I want my words to find their readership.
I’ve not met my initial blogging goal of “Every Friday,” so I’m considering a more reasonable (for me) frequency.
Would you help me decide?
Choices, choices
Are there topics you’d like to read about?
You may know that I have life experiences from 23 years in Nashville, playing the mountain dulcimer throughout the Southeast United States. You may know I up and moved to a remote island in the middle of Lake Michigan in 2016, Beaver Island. Perhaps you know I am a ceramic artist, currently creating at the Ann Arbor Art Center. And, that I am currently hiking in forests a lot, gradually adding to my knowledge and understanding of trees and our relationships with them. From my hikes, I was inspired to write a fiction book, which is still in process. You may have learned I’m in my seventh year of looking after parents, sixth year of helping out mom and advocating for her as she’s navigating life with disability and age-related challenges. Last but not least, and this is no secret, I am also the doggy mom of a brilliant and incredibly connective Australian Cattle Dog mix, Ruby, since 2014.
I have photos and videos to share. But what interests you? What would you like to see?
If you have any other thoughts or topics, jot them down in the comments here:
I do love Substack. Many of my writer friends are here in this community with me and that’s a wonderful thing. A lifetime of writing deserves a vehicle to share it and this platform works for me in between my novels. 😉
Every post, I wish you fresh joy and eyes to see the wonderworld that is in and around you.
Don’t miss it!
With lots of love,
Linda and Ruby
I never knew all of that about you... Wow 🤩 I clicked the forest walks button on the pill, but I would be interested in anything you would like to share - ceramics, Ruby, music, Ruby, writing, oh and maybe Ruby too 🥳😁😘
